Get a Card
A Tolleson Public Library card is free for all Maricopa County residents. (If you live outside of Maricopa County, you can still get a Tolleson Public Library card for a $28 annual fee.)
Your library card allows you to check out up to 30 library materials (including books, movies, magazines, and eBooks) and gives you access databases and our Library of Things collection. You can visit our Library Building located inside Tolleson's Civic Center Building or you can sign up for a card online. (Online card registration is for adults only. Minors must still be physically present at a branch to receive a library card).
Register for a Library Card
Online
- Click here to access the Library Card Registration Form
- Fill out the form and upload pictures of your proof of ID and residency.
- You will receive an email with your library card number and PIN within 24 hours of a business day (Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays). Your physical card will arrive in the mail.
In Person
- Bring a copy of your proof of ID and proof of physical address and we'll get you signed up at the desk.
If your photo ID does not include your current physical address, a second form of ID with your physical address is required (P.O. Boxes not accepted).
Accepted Forms of Photo ID:
- Drivers license
- Federal, state or local government ID card
- Passport
- School ID card
- U.S. Military card
- Permanent resident card
- Alien registration receipt card
Accepted Proof of Physical Address (Not Limited to):
Please ensure the proof was issued within the last 90 days
- Utilities Bill (paper or digital)
- Electric Bill (paper or digital)
- Cell Phone Bill (paper or digital)
- Car Insurance (paper or digital)
- Post-marked piece of mail with your name on it
Parent or legal guardian must present photo ID and proof of current physical address for cards issued to children under the age of 12.

- How can I get a library card?

A free library card is available to all Maricopa County residents with photo ID along with proof of current address. Non-Maricopa County residents may also obtain a library card for $28 a year with ID and proof of address. For details visit our Library Cards page.
- Can anyone in my family use my card?

Anyone can use your card with your permission. We do encourage all family members to obtain their own library card. Be sure to report a lost or stolen card immediately.

Your card is valid at the Tolleson Public Library only. Your library card allows home access to the Tolleson Public Library online catalog, research databases, e-books, music downloads, streaming, and The Library of Things. (Library of Things checkouts on adult cards only).
- How does a minor get a library card?

For minors 12 years old and under, a parent or guardian must obtain the card for the minor and present their proof of ID and proof of address. Both the minor and guardian must be present. Guardian assumes responsibility for items checked out on the minor card when registering on their behalf. Minors 13 years and older can obtain a card on their own with their student ID and proof of address (proof can be through their school account).
- Do I need a library card to use the Internet?

No, all visitors can use the internet at Tolleson Public Library for free.
- Do I need a library card for free printing?

Yes, all library cards come with a $2 per day printing allotment. If you do not have proof of residency, you can still get a limited 3-item checkout card with just your proof of ID so that you can have access to free printing.
